چکیده
Soil is a precious natural resource, forming the basis for sustained ecosystem services mankind. Its degradation due to ever-increasing anthropogenic influence is, however, threatening food security and quality of environment in many regions. The present investigation was, therefore, undertaken with an objective assessing effect soil water conservation practices bund Fanya juu terrace compared no practice on cultivated soils Uwite watershed Hadero Tunto District, southern Ethiopia. sampling sites were selected both from farm fields, where structures raised last 10 years, fields there was practice. A total eighteen composite samples (3 × 2 depths, 0–15 15–30 cm, ×3 replicates) collected analyzed different physical chemical parameters. results subjected analysis variance using General Linear Model two-way ANOVA by RCBD factorial arrangement SAS software. Both practices, statistically similar each other, indicated significant improvement parameters higher content clay, lower bulk density, porosity, moisture content, pH, organic matter, percent base saturation, cation exchange capacity, amounts macro- (N, P, K, Ca, Mg, S) micronutrients (Fe, Zn, Cu). surface layer (0–15 cm) significantly superior subsurface (15–30 most these merit their continuation existing lands upscaling other degraded areas land productivity socioeconomic-environmental stability region

Tea yield and soil properties as affected by slope position and aspect in Lahijan area, Iran
Soil genesis, physico-chemical properties and tea yield were investigated along different hillslope positions in the major tea cultivation area of Iran, i.e. Lahijan, Gilan Province. Land suitability was also determined for the tea production in this hilly region. Four different slope positions i.e., summit, shoulder, backslope and toeslope were sampled on three slope aspects following the prof...

Valuing Soil Conservation Benefits of Agroforestry Practices
Although advocates of agroforestry have promoted soil conservation as one of its primary benefits, empirical estimates of these benefits have been lacking due to temporal and spatial complexity of agroforestry systems and soil resource dynamics. This study aims to reduce this gap by designing and testing a three stage farm level productivity methodology for economic evaluation of soil conservat...
متن کاملSoil Pore Characteristics, Hydraulic Conductivity and Soil Bulk Density as Influenced by Agroforestry and Grass Buffer Conservation Practices
Despite improvements in the use of soil conservation practices, crop rotation and nutrient management programs, significant concern still exists regarding soil erosion and nutrient losses in runoff from row crop production. In the US, states are required to implement water quality standards based on USEPA guidelines or other scientifically defensible methods (Ice and Binkley, 2003). Agroforestr...
متن کاملCopper phytoavailability and uptake by Elsholtzia splendens from contaminated soil as affected by soil amendments.
Pot and field experiments were conducted to evaluate bioavailability of Cu in contaminated paddy soil (PS) and phytoremediation potential by Elsholtzia splendens as affected by soil amendments. The results from pot experiment showed that organic manure (M) applied to the PS not only remarkably raised the H2O exchangeable Cu, which were mainly due to the increased exchangeable and organic fracti...
